During this excellent Drum Tuning and Maintenance course you’ll be taught by Joe Randeen, a veteran drummer, who will demonstrate the challenges of tuning and maintaining your drum kit. Re-train your ear and learn how to produce the best possible sound from your equipment. In addition, you’ll learn to select, replace, and properly tune drumheads as well as selecting sticks. Learners will also explore how to maintain your whole drum kit, to achieve the best sound possible.

Meet the instructor:

Joe Randeen has been drumming in live and studio situations for over two decades and is also a multi-platinum award-winning producer (RIAA) with over 40 releases worldwide. Currently, Joe is the co-founder and COO of Joes desire is to mentor and help younger players learn, grow and excel. “There are plenty of great videos on how to play the rudiments, a drum-kit, and different styles, but no one ever teaches the beginning drummers how to tune and maintain their kits. What are the requirements?

  • You must be 16 or over
  • You should have a basic understanding of English, Maths and ICT
  • You will need a computer or tablet with internet connection (or access to one)

How will I be assessed?

  • You will have one assignment. Pass mark is 65%.
  • You will only need to pay £19 for assessment.
  • You will receive the results within 72 hours of submittal, and will be sent a certificate in 7-14 days.


Those who successfully pass this course will be awarded a Drum Tuning and Maintenance certificate. Anyone eligible for certification will receive a free e-certificate.
