Display Screen Equipment Awareness

Overview

Display screen equipment (DSE) is used according to the special directive given by the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulation. It is the responsibility of the employer and employee to use display screen equipment safely as upheld by this legislation. If you regularly use screen equipment and want to further your knowledge, Display Screen Equipment Awareness will teach you how to use the equipment in the context of the ‘user’. The user is referred to a person who uses display screen equipment more than an hour a day. Display screen equipment is not limited to the computer monitor but also includes laptops, television, smartphones, tablets and portable diagnostic screens. There can be disadvantages to using display screen equipment regularly from pain in the back, neck and shoulder to even fatigue and eyestrain. The Regulation Act (1992) aims to protect people who work with DSE and ensures that every employer performs a sufficient and suitable assessment of computer workstations. This is a statutory training that will teach you the best way to setup your display screen equipment and use it correctly and safely.

Display Screen Equipment Awareness features practical advice and guidance on how to ensure workplaces are able to comply with the law by applying health and safety regulations in the workplace. You will acquire the skills and knowledge to carry out a thorough training assessment of DSE, identify potential risks and implement the necessary action. This is an IIRSM approved course which demonstrates to potential employers that you are continually developing yourself, and will make you a desirable candidate in a number of leading industries.
